I never thought I'd be so close to bees. I was photographing these flowers outside of the church after our class last weekend, and I was up close and personal with them, with my macro lens. I saw the bee, and found myself drawn to him, continually clicking the shutter in hopes to get him in action, and a clear photo. I actually said to myself, "I guess I'm not afraid of bees like I used to be." Keep in mind, context is everything! (hehe). I was photographing him sitting there, walking, turning, and doing his thing. He took flight, and this is what I was able to capture. The shutter speed here was a bit slower than I'd have liked, but I kinda like the motion of his wings and body. I was thrilled with this.
I read something recently that if bees disappeared off the face of the earth, we'd have 4 years to live. I don't know how true it is, but what a thought, isn't it?
Bella had a nice walk this morning, she relaxed at church, had some icy cream, then reiki, and another evening stroll as dusk, almost dark, set in. She is out for the count, resting so peacefully. I love seeing her tired from a good honest day.
Enjoy, and may you have some peace this evening!
