Trying so hard...
Sometimes the more we try, the worse it gets. Sometimes we need to take a step back. We may not even realize how hard we are actually trying, that when we take a step back, we can see it, and realize how much we are being affected in ways that aren't good for ourselves, and for others. Our true motives play a role, as well. Are we trying to please ourselves or others, for the sake of them liking us, or are we wanting change in ourselves to be more for service and to serve others (including significant others) in a truly loving way, not for our own selfish motives of wanting to be liked or loved? There may be a little of both in our answers, but it can really make us crazy. Stepping back allows us to see these things. It may hurt. It may downright suck. But the beauty in it, is that we see it, and we can ask our Creator to help us with these things. When we step back, we allow Him to do the work, and let things fall into place as they should, instead of trying to force ourselves to change, or change a situation.
Many of us may have had it backwards for a long time- we try it all ourselves for reasons that aren't healthy. And we may fall back into that at times. Yes, we are human, and it's ok!
Recognize it, hurt and all, yet try to find thankfulness in it, that all things are still possible, and that you can relax and let the Spirit do the work.
Trust in the process. Trust in the Spirit. You will be ok.
